Startup Gathering 2015

The Startup Gathering 2015, one of the largest events of its kind in the world, will take place throughout Ireland between 5th - 10th October.

Five cities have been chosen as hosts for the event with a week long series of focused events and initiatives planned, appealing to both national and internation audiences.

The events will take place in Cork, Limerick, Waterford, Galway and Dublin and will showcases Ireland's startup sector to global entrepreneurs, investors and R&D teams.

At last weeks launch, the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton, stated: "Two-thirds of all new jobs across the economy are created by startups - that is why it is so crucial that we get our policies on Entrepreneurship right"

The goal of the Startup Gathering 2015 is to facilite networking opportunities for at least 15,000 members of the Irish public and international visitors, with the aim of creating 2,500 new jobs in the following 12 months.

Speaking at the launch CEO of the Startup Ireland Partnership, Eoin Costello, said: "The future growth of Ireland's economy in terms of innovation and jobs is closely linked to the performance of Ireland's startup sector.  Our mission with the Startup Gathering 2015 is to make Ireland a global startup hub by 2020, maximising our entrepreneurial talent pipeline and the clusters that accelerate them."
